About This File
PRINCE GEORGE - They didn't score the most points in the tournament, but they didn't have to.
Defence played the biggest role in the Mount Royal College Cougars of Calgary capturing the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association men's basketball championship on the weekend at the Northern Sport Centre.
The Cougars, who shoot hoops in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference, finished undefeated the three-day, eight-team tournament and surrendered less than 70 points in all three of their victories. They sealed their title run with a 79-67 over the Champlain College Cavaliers of Saint Lambert, Que., in Sunday evening's gold medal game.
