VERNON -- Jody and Sarah Crerar braved the scissors and lost six inches of their hair for a good cause.
The eight-year-old sisters went to the International Trendsetters salon on Wednesday to get their locks cut off.
Jody Niemi, owner of the salon, did the honour and was personally affected by the girls' generosity.
The sisters raised $250 in pledges for charity, which will go towards Niemi's sister and niece who are both battling cancer.
Joe Kozakowski, a friend of Niemi, offered a portion of his long hair for the cause as well.
Their hair will go to charity Locks for Love, a non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to people under 21 with cancer.
